Week 6 was entirely in the classroom. I considered several times actually sticking a pen or pencil into my neck!!! The topics were religious cults, and gangs, which were interesting, but it should be against some sort of regulation to spend ungodly amounts of time in class!!! I think they should even incorporate naps into the afternoon schedule. Week 7 was a tough week. The only thing that kept us going was the fact that we graduate next week! We studied defensive tactics this past week, and rest assured, our instructors were hands on, and very good at what they taught. I felt so bad for my partner in the class that I bought him dinner during town leave on Thursday evening! We absolutely beat the heck out of each other, and I also think I may have broken something....but not a big deal, we graduate next week!!! You would think that during the next to last week the food would improve, but it hasn't. I wonder who I should see about that!!?? Through all of the excitement of graduation next week, we're all getting the butterflies knowing that we have to pass the obstacle course, and a final exam next week. We also know that some people will be going home earlier then graduation, as they have failed either written or practical exams, and if they fail Monday or Thursday, they would have exceeded the limit on what you can fail and re-test on. Believe it or not, the time here has gone by very quickly, I know other officers from different departments that have to attend an academy for a lot longer than I am required to go, so I guess I really have it easy! Nonetheless, it's been a challenge to stay energetic, and to stay positive when you have to leave home every Sunday. Guess it wouldn't be the academy if it weren't challenging though! And if the food was edible...hmmmm...people would actually willingly go to the academy!!!

Hey, Dep, you didn't finish the tale of the Academy. Did you graduate or are you still attending?

Dep66 must have fallen or something else, or, maybe he ran up the hill too fast and tripped, anyway, he hasn't commented as per whether or not he ever graduated from Academy, and, it sure would be nice and interesting to learn how he is doing now --- what his duties are, where he is serving, and so forth. So, how about it Dep, if you read this, could you "fill us in" with the latest in your world?

Hey, Dep66 ---- WHERE ARE YOU? I'm still waiting to here if you graduated or not. You must not have and you don't want anyone to know, right? I hope you did, though, we need "a few good men" out there just like the Marines need "a few good men" too.
