i have a 20 yr old neice that just had a baby feb 10. her and the baby were living with my family up until today. she took the baby and left with the babys father who sells drugs to go and live with his mom and dad. His dad is a registered sex offender. Convicted but no jail time in 2004. so my question is can a sex offender have children living in his house?

To Lisbeth,

I am not an "authority" on this sort of thing, so, my comments are merely what is generally going on here in Idaho concerning this situation.

Concerning your situation --- "Can a sex-offender have children living in his home"!!!

It depends largely upon what type of offense that sex-offender has done. Was it with older kids, or with children, and, it also depends on the rulings of the court of the jurisidction which is involved.

Here where I live (Boise) I have both worked with those bearing the title of "Sex-offender" and live within the same apartment complex with one. Until I knew that either of them were "offenders" I had had absolutely no ideas THAT they were so designated. When I found out, it stunned me completely. The one who lives in the apartment complex where I live, is one of the most OUTSTANDING citizens of this community in virtually all ways.

There is something to take into consideration here in "sex-offender" situations. God forgives ALL sins, excepting Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, and this forgiving includes those who commit sexual sins. It is people who have placed a NO FORGIVENESS ACKNOWLEDGED on the sin of sex against kids, teens-by-adults, and such.

God does not say that "all sin is forgiveable, excepting the "sex-offender" type as well as the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" He says "ALL sin is forgiveable, excepting blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" --- so, it is my contentions that THAT MEANS virtually all sins.

In the light of God and rulings for forgiveness, I would say that your situation then, depends on whether or not the "sex-offender" has truly asked God for forgiveness and it has been granted. So, there should be no problems in that case, even though from man's thinking "once an offender, always an offender"! But, if so, then God could also say "once a sinner, always a sinner" and in that case not one of us would get to go through the Pearly Gates.

Although I COULD have simply done the "edit" thing, I wanted this as a completely seperate message, so, that is the reason why I have done an additional posting on this topic.

I cannot see the "hang up" the general public has attached to the "sex-offender" thing at all. FROM MY VIEWPOINT, they ought to have the SAME "hang up" to murderers, thieves, and all other criminals also, NOT MERELY THOSE WHO HAVE DONE SEXUALLY-RELATED CRIMES.

Do I want a murderer to live where I live? Do you? How about a habitual thief? Would you like a spy living next door? So, then, why can't there be a "Killer Offender List" or a "Thief List" and a "whatever else list" saying who all has done some other type of sin, too. And, in that case, eventually, you could not have any neighbors at all. In fact, if you don't want ANY person who has done something amiss living by you, you cannot even be married as your mate might have a "hidden secret sin" that he or she has been a party to.

What I am am really wondering about concerning all of those hating those who have done sexually related crimes is "how are you going to react when you see them in heaven?" Some of them will be there, you know.

The guy living in my apartment complex did his "sex offender" thing years past when he was HIGHLY ACTIVE in the natural order of life and who did he do it with? --- a teen-age girl he THOUGHT was his own age. She squeeeeeled, and he got the wonderful title of "sex offender" having now to so register where-ever he exists for the rest of his life. That makes NO SENSE to me at all. He is sorry for his sin, and lives a model life and is constantly reminded of his sin years past forever.

Those people who hate sex-offenders do not realize that in a sense ALL people are sex offenders as all human beings have sexual conquests of one type or another which go beyond the "missionary type" of sexual activities.

Abortion --- in my viewpoint, is also a crime which ought to bear the title of "sex-offense" and those clinics who perform abortions should have over their door some sort of sign proclaiming their participations as "sexual offenders abortionists" or some such thing.

I could go on and on forever concerning this "sex-offender" thing, but, I believe that the readers should be able to grasp what I am trying to portray already --- IN OTHER WORDS, STOP AND THINK A BIT ABOUT IT!!!
