I am a reserve deputy for my home county and a student of Criminal Justice at a four year college. While I'm at school I am a dispatcher for our campus police. My first shift alone was an overnight (11p-7a) shift on a Saturday night. It was about 0500 hours and I recieved a 911. I answered the call and the caller stated that her friend was sick. I asked if she knew why she was sick... she paused... and stated she thought her friend might be allergic to Gatorade... Following my initial instinct, I started questioning the caller about the symptons her friend was displaying. The caller indicated most of the symptoms of alcohol poisoning but stated they had not been drinking. I then proceeded to dispatch an officer to that location and he transported the victim to the hospital... When he returned he told me that they had indeed been drinking and the victim was suffering from alcohol poisoning...
