ICQ:

My name is Chappy on this site; however, my normal name is Rev. Ruben J. Schmidt, DD and I was born in Glendive, Montana, matured in the Shafter, California area, was in the U.S. Army in which I served as a Medical Corpsman and was Post Chapel Organist in Germany where I was stationed in the 57th Medical Battalion in Muenchweiler (on the Rodalben), Germany. Having spoken German prior to any other languages, of course, I enjoyed being stationed there. When I was a kid, it was my firm desires to become a police officer, but, since my family was a "traditional family" in which the oldest male son made family decisions, my brother prohibited me from so becoming; however, that did not stop me from becoming involved to the extent possible with LEOs, and, I became a Detective as well as Private Investigator without my brother's knowledge, although my mother was aware. Having lived in the Boise, Idaho area for many years, while in Idaho I belonged to the IPOA for several years as well as several other Law Enforcement organizations and was affiliated with the FOP in Idaho as well, although not a member. I have since then relocated to the Oakhurst, California area and belong to the CPOA (California Peace Officers Association) and the CSSA (California State Sheriffs Association), but, due to circumstances usually do not attend any seminars or meetings, although I am personally acquainted with several LEOs here in my immediate areas. Contrary to many other LEO supporters, I am probably one of the most STAUNCH Law Enforcement supporters that anyone could ever find anywhere and consider all of its members, irregardless of what race, sex, orientation, religious beliefs, agency/rank serving or whatever else, as my brothers and sisters just as surely as if all of us have been born into the very same family having the same biological father and mother. For anyone who wants to know which LEO magazine I prefer - I have been a subscriber to POLICE - the Law Enforcement Magazine for 10+ years and consider it the cardinal publication for LEOs anywhere, having had articles and letters published in its pages numerous times as well as paying annual sub fees for many officers anywhere. It is my personal opinion that there is no other profession in which exists the comradery as the Law Enforcement profession and it is a most unique profession for anyone to be in. A highly favoured poem that I find valuable and attempt to live by is the poem entitled "If I Knew" for that poem says it all concerning associations with LEOs. If you have never read it, let me know and I will send you a copy of it. May all of my brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement be blessed from the Superior Being (whom I refer to as God) always and in all ways --- I love all of you. Chappy
